Description: Sometimes due to several factors a remote console may not uninstall properly. When this happens it may be necessary to clean the installation off and start again from scratch instead of re-imaging the machine. This article is not a guarantee that it will fix all problems removing the console but more of a guide on what pieces to remove to reset the installation.
Process:
- If present uninstall any LANDESK Agent with "uninstallwinclient.exe /forceclean". The reason for this is that several registry keys and files are going to be removed which may damage the agent. The agent can be re-installed once the console is working.
- Go to Programs and Feature (add/remove programs) and remove "LANDESK Software".
- Reboot.
- Go to Programs and Features and remove anything else LANDesk. (Examples: LANDesk Data Analytics, LANDesk Remote Control, etc)
- Reboot as directed.
- Delete the folder: C:\ProgramData\LANDesk
- Delete the folder: C:\Program Files\LANDesk
- Delete the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk
- Delete the registry key: HKLM\Software\LANDesk
- Delete the registry key: HKLM\Software\Intel\LANDesk
- Delete the registry key: HKLM\Software\Managed Planet (if present)
- Delete the registry key: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\LANDesk
- Search the registry for the following and remove any Product install keys: 9.60.0.244, "LANDesk Mobility", and "LANDesk" (See screen shot...it will be the parent key for the search result under the Product branch)
Note: There will be several keys like the example below. Delete the parent key with multiple characters/numbers and each result is going to be under some sort of installer/product branch of the registry.
- Re-install the Windows Console from the original 9.6 install media.
- Reboot as needed and upgrade to 9.6 SP1 as required.
